Deciding Whom to Conduct Research With

After two years I have become deeply buried in my chemistry major. Now it is time to start conducting undergraduate research. But with who? I have deeply researched all of the faculty and every sub-category of chemistry. I have decided to conduct research in the either the field of Inorganic Chemistry or Organic Chemistry. Now to see who needs an undergraduate researcher or has space for one. There are a couple professors I'm interested in but I don't know them that well. I'll see what I can do. I'm striving to get published before I apply to graduate school and I'm going to apply for departmental distinction at the end of this Fall. So much to do in so little time, but time's length depends on how you spend it, right? This summer I completely slacked off and I feel horrible. I did study for the GRE a little, but that's about it. For all the high school students out there: "Do not procrastinate!" I truly haven't yet, but it's tempting. Tomorrow I should find out who I'll be conducting research under.
